Search engines are looking for the relatives of Red Army soldier Matvey Nikolaevich Sorokin, who was born near Moscow and disappeared in 1943, the press service of the Russian Search Movement reported on the VKontakte social network on July 11.
Soldiers of the 90th separate special search battalion found the remains of a Soviet soldier in the Dnovsky district of the Pskov region on July 11. The search work was carried out in the village of Kolotushino, near the former military airfield “Grivochki”, where a fascist concentration camp operated from 1941 to 1944.
The fighter was identified thanks to a note on the soldier’s medallion. He is Matvey Nikolaevich Sorokin, born in 1911, who has been listed as missing since January 1943.
The place of birth of the fighter is indicated in the Moscow region, Kuntsevo district, Bogorodskoye village. He was drafted on August 30, 1941 by Kuntsevo RVK, Moscow Region, and served in the 33rd reserve rifle brigade. The wife of the Red Army soldier was named Anna Vasilievna Kozlova.
