A pilot project for processing oily waste from ships has been launched in the Rostov region, the press service of the regional administration reported on July 12.
The project is being implemented in two stages. A petroleum product base has already been created and will be put into operation in October 2023.
Reconstruction work is currently underway at the site for oily water treatment and oil sludge processing. Its launch is planned for June 2025. Innovative technologies and domestic equipment will be applied at this site.
“The production technology provides for the fact that oil-containing water, passing through a cascade of gravity separators, is stratified under the influence of temperature into water, an oil-containing component with the possibility of reuse and sedimentation, with subsequent neutralization in the incinerator.”explains the message.
In the future, the project is planned to be extended to the entire Rostov region.
