
Applications to participate in a special military operation in Ukraine were submitted by the deputy commander of the Central District of the Russian Guard, Major General Vadim Dragomiretsky, Kommersant reported on July 12.
Major General Dragomiretsky and his subordinate, Lieutenant Colonel Eldar Gadzhiev, who is also a defendant in the bribery case, submitted applications to participate in the SVO before the verdict was pronounced.
It was previously reported that Dragomiretsky is accused of receiving a bribe worth 19 million rubles. The investigation claims that he organized a criminal group consisting of Lieutenant Colonel Gadzhiev, the commander of the material resources storage base, Colonel Mamuka Kochiev, and pensioner Aron Avnilov.
The court sentenced Dragomiretsky to nine and a half years in prison, Kochiev to six years in prison, Gadzhiev to nine years in prison, and Avnilov to three years in prison.
