A one-year-old baby was found wandering along a road on Tuesday after two days of bad weather, a day after his brother’s death and his mother’s arrest in the US state of Mississippi, the newspaper reports. ABC News.
The child was found crawling on the side of the road by a truck driver. Despite numerous mosquito bites, the child was in good condition, local police said.
Authorities have not yet released the cause of death of the four-year-old brother. His body was found near a lake. The fatal victim was last seen in the company of his mother, Alia Jack, 25, and has now been found alive.
Police feared the child would be found dead like his brother, so they quickly mounted a search operation. The mystery was solved when a driver called 911 to report finding what authorities called a “miracle baby.”
“We look at this one-year-old boy as a miracle child because he’s still alive,” the police chief said.
As Hurricane Beryl wreaked havoc in neighboring Texas, the child’s miraculous resistance took on even more miraculous dimensions. The search for the child took place amid very strong winds and heavy rain.
“This little guy spent two days alone in bad weather on the side of the road. Thank God a truck driver found him,” the policeman added.
The child’s mother was arrested more than 560 kilometers from where the baby was found. The mother was accused of failing to report the child missing.
