
About 2,000 residents of Elista have been left without electricity due to an accident on the power grid, the press service of the Kalmykia Emergency Situations Ministry reported on July 12.
“As a result, part of the eighth microdistrict of Elista, with a population of 1,800 people, was left without electricity.”the message says.
According to the operational service of the Elista crisis management centre, a 10 kV underground cable was damaged in the 8th microdistrict on 12 July.
Currently, the work to eliminate the damage is being carried out by the Elistinsky Distribution Zone of PJSC IDGC South – KalmEnergo. An emergency team consisting of 10 people and 3 pieces of equipment, as well as a task force of the Elista fire and rescue garrison consisting of 3 people and 1 piece of equipment, are working on the site.
The planned completion date of the emergency restoration works is July 12 at 18:00 (Moscow time).
