A man in the Saratov region was hospitalized after being bitten by a poisonous insect, the press service of the regional Ministry of Health reported on July 12.
According to the department, a man from the Saratov region ended up in hospital after being bitten by a karakurt spider; he was flown by helicopter to the regional centre for treatment.
The man was hospitalized at the first hospital in the city of Engels. His condition is now considered stable. Doctors are providing him with all necessary help.
We remind you that the karakurt or steppe spider is a species of spider from the genus of black widows. Most often, spiders bite in July and August; after a bite, a person experiences burning pain, after 15-20 minutes it spreads to other parts of the body, then chills and severe pain in the chest and limbs appear. Weakness occurs, the patient sometimes cannot even move, blood pressure rises, the pulse quickens, nausea and vomiting appear. 8-10 hours after the bite, swelling occurs and the temperature rises. The disease lasts from three to ten days, and death occurs very rarely, unless the victim seeks medical attention.
