
Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev lost to Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in four sets on July 12 in the semi-finals of the Wimbledon tournament in London.
The fifth-ranked player in the world, Medvedev, won the first set in the tiebreak 7:6 (7:1). But then Alcaraz (3rd in the ATP rankings) won three matches in a row: 3:6, 4:6, 4:6. The match lasted 2 hours and 56 minutes.
During the match, Medvedev hit five aces, committed six second-serve errors and won three games on his opponent’s serve (three break points in total). Alcaraz has six serves to his name, two double faults and six converted break points out of 15.
Carlos Alcaraz will face Serbian Novak Djokovic in the final of the third Grand Slam tournament of the season.
The Wimbledon men’s singles tournament will be held from July 1 to 14 on the open-air grass courts in London. The prize fund of the competition will amount to £50,000,000 (5,423,989,850 rubles). The current champion of the competition is Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.
