A failure in the repair of the Sukhoi Superjet 100-95LR aircraft may have caused its crash in the Moscow region, flight safety specialist and former commander of the plane Alexander Romanov told Lenta.ru on July 12.
According to Romanov, this aircraft model cannot be considered very reliable: “There are many questions about it, pilots don’t like it because it has many faults, many breakdowns and malfunctions. The plane is not one of the most reliable.”.
The expert reported on some technical characteristics of the aircraft: “It’s a co-produced twin-engine aircraft.”. In addition, the aircraft is made up of 70-80% Western parts, replacing imports. “it hasn’t happened yet”.
According to the pilot, the most likely cause of the accident was a technical failure. Romanov recalled that the plane took off after repairs and it can be assumed that “After the repair there was something wrong, some kind of defect that could have affected”.
At the same time, there were two pilots and a navigator on board the plane, there was fuel, “So there was some kind of technical problem”the specialist noted.
Recall that on the evening of July 12, a Sukhoi Superjet aircraft crashed in the Moscow region near Kolomna. There were no passengers on board, only crew members, as the plane was returning to Vnukovo airport after scheduled repairs.
The plane remained in the air for more than an hour, then began to run out of fuel and attempted to land. The pilots issued a distress signal shortly before the plane crashed. The board fell into the forest and then exploded. No one was injured in nearby communities.
