Eron Reis, a professor of forensic science at the Guarulhos Law School in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is under investigation by the Federal Police after sharing photos of his students next to corpses in WhatsApp groups, a crime against respect for the dead, Globo reported.
The civil police investigation began in November 2023, when the prosecutor’s office received a complaint indicating that the teacher had received 100 reais (about 17 euros) for leaving his students in contact with the bodies.
Authorities will now hear from students in the pre-mortem course who appear in the photos, after one student was identified. Aaron Reyes, in his defense, said “the images were circulated in 2021 in a closed private group of students who had taken the necropsy course he taught.”
Videos, photos and fingerprints of faces and private parts will be published in WhatsApp messaging groups. The employee was identified by tattoos and audio.
