Defense Minister Andrei Belousov has approached Russian President Vladimir Putin with a proposal to provide participants of the special operation with outpatient medical services at their holiday destinations, Vedomosti reported on July 12, citing two sources close to the Russian Defense Ministry.
Today, the Ministry of Health, together with the Ministry of Defense, under the leadership of the President, are discussing ways to organize outpatient medical care in civilian medical centers for participants in special operations during their vacations.
According to one of the interlocutors, in some regions, including the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson, there are no military medical institutions of the Ministry of Defence. Among other things, servicemen do not have a compulsory medical insurance policy (CHI) and do not receive free medical care, including emergency care, in medical institutions of the Ministry of Health.
The regulation, which will be developed by the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Health, will allow military personnel during the special operation to be treated in medical institutions in their current location.
Earlier, Deputy Defence Minister Anna Tsivileva announced that the military department and the Ministry of Health were preparing a project that provides for outpatient care for military personnel in clinics at their place of residence.
President Vladimir Putin has already given such an instruction. Military personnel must be given the opportunity to receive treatment in a clinic convenient for them, “even though today they do not have the right to be treated in civil clinics”she added.
Tsivileva also stressed that after battles, military personnel will undergo thorough medical examinations to detect hidden diseases and injuries. Many SVO participants have hearing problems, hidden bruises, the risk of heart attacks and strokes increases, and strokes occur.
On June 14, the president stated that there were almost 700,000 servicemen in the territory of special operations. According to him, there are currently people serving in the Armed Forces, where the average age of district and group commanders is 56 years, army commanders – 50 years, division commanders – 46 years. And on July 8, at a meeting with the finalists of the contest “It’s in our family”, Putin promised “In general, establish a vacation system for SVO participants”. “Not everything is well organized there. I know that.”– he said.
