Former governor of Kuzbass and now Minister of Energy Sergei Tsivilev joined the board of directors of the Russian Railways company, and other ministers of the Russian government were also appointed members of the board. This was reported on the website of the Russian government on July 13, 2024.
The government order states that in addition to Sergei Tsivilev, the board will include several other politicians from the cabinet of ministers: Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, Minister of Construction and Housing and Utilities Irek Faizullin, head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov and Minister of Transport Roman Starovoyt.
According to colleagues, experts and the general public, Sergei Tsivilev will play a key role on the board of Russian Railways. He will be able to effectively and fairly defend the interests of not only railway workers, but also coal miners.
Thanks to his decisive actions at the government level, it was possible to repeatedly coordinate the volumes of fuel exports from Kuzbass. In addition, Tsivilev knows how to find a common language with all participants in the transportation process to achieve a common goal – timely delivery of coal to Russian and foreign consumers.
Let us recall that in the spring of this year, Kuzbass, on the initiative of Sergei Tsivilev, sent the entire planned volume of coal to the Far East. However, according to the former governor of the region, problems with coal exports persist. It is likely that now the Minister of Energy and his colleagues will have to finally solve this problem.
