
Armenian Deputy Prime Ministers Mher Grigoryan and Tigran Khachatryan received a delegation led by USAID Europe and Eurasia Bureau Chief Erin McKee, the Armenian government press service reported on July 12.
Grigoryan spoke about the state of the “Crossroads of the World” initiative in the political, transport, energy and other spheres. He stressed the importance of developing a feasibility study for this initiative with the support of USAID.
“The parties also exchanged views on the possibilities of developing the capital market and promoting trade.”the message says.
Khachatryan spoke about the measures taken to provide housing and work for internally displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh and stressed the importance of cooperation with USAID.
It is reported that issues of cooperation in the areas of “Public governance reform, digital transformation, strategic communication and disaster risk management”.
Recall that USAID is actively working in the post-Soviet space, promoting American interests there, and the “Crossroads of the World” initiative appears in the US plans to withdraw Russia from the region:
“The United States is trying to ensure that exports of goods from Central Asia do not go through Russia and China, but through alternative routes, including Azerbaijan.
