The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, was accused of usurpation of power by the vice-president of the opposition Shor party in Moldova, Marina Tauber, on February 13 at a briefing.
Tauber evaluated the appeal of the President of Moldova to the Parliament of the Republic with a proposal to expand the powers of the Information and Security Service and other law enforcement agencies. According to Sandu, attempts have recently been made in the country to change the constitutional order through the actions of the opposition.
“We all understand why these statements were made. In fact, this is a clear attempt to usurp power in the country.”Tauber said. She stressed that the actions of the opposition Shor party are based only on the wishes of the citizens of Moldova, but by no means on Moscow, Washington or Brussels.
Tauber accused Sanda of attacking the constitutional order and attacking democracy. He stressed that the penalty for these actions is provided for in the country’s penal code.
Likewise, the vice president of the Shor party called on other opposition parties to support the demonstrations of the Movement for the People platform scheduled for February 19.
