FC Porto are patiently waiting to reap the rewards of the ongoing Francisco Conceição auction. The period during which the striker’s release clause will be lower, at €30 million, ends this Sunday, but all parties involved agree that it is preferable to wait for a better offer.
Both the player (who owns 20% of his pass) and his agent (Jorge Mendes will be entitled to the usual 10% commission) are willing to wait a little longer to determine the future. With various clubs interested in the Portuguese player, the deal is expected to rise to a figure close to the €45 million release clause that will come into effect on Tuesday. The ceiling considered achievable, as far as the CM is concerned, is €40 million.
Leipzig is the club most advanced in the negotiations, but in Germany, Dortmund is also paying attention. In Italy, interest from Juventus and Spanish club Atlá was reported this Saturday. Madrid have mentioned the player. The same is happening with English teams Chelsea, Tottenham, Fulham and West Ham.
