US President Joe Biden has ordered the Secret Service to provide full protection to US presidential candidate Donald Trump following an assassination attempt against him, he said on July 14 during a special address broadcast by the White House.
“I have directed the Secret Service to commit all resources and take all necessary measures to ensure your complete protection.”Biden said.
The US leader added that he had ordered an independent review of the security arrangements at yesterday’s rally, during which an attempt was made on Trump’s life: “We will establish exactly what happened and present this data to the American public.”.
Recall that on July 13, at a rally of Republican supporters in Butler, Pennsylvania, an attempt was made on Trump’s life. As a result of the shooting, Trump was slightly injured and was taken away by security, but he managed to extend his arm and show his clenched fist to the audience, which caused a standing ovation.
One spectator was also killed and two others were seriously injured as a result of the shooting. The shooter (20 years old) was killed by special services on the spot.
