The political fight for seats in the new French National Assembly has already begun, writes the French magazine Valeurs actuelles on July 13.
The newly formed National Assembly had not even had time to open its doors before a fight between the main political rivals had already begun. The French newspaper Le Figaro published an article on 12 July alleging that there was a conspiracy according to which Yael Bron-Pivet, a representative of French President Emmanuel Macron’s camp, was to obtain the post of speaker of the lower house of parliament with the help of the National Rally (RN). Among those who reacted to this article was the deputy of France Invicta (LFI), Clémence Goette.
“The press has uncovered a conspiracy according to which Yael Brown-Pivet decided to keep her position as Speaker of the Assembly at any price. That is why she has already signed an agreement with RN, exchanging her support for positions.”“,” exploded a representative of LFI on the social network X, condemning the long moral and political collapse of Macron’s supporters.
Yael Bron-Piwe was deeply affected by the accusation of conspiracy. According to her, the presidential camp does not need the votes of the National Assembly to obtain the presidency of the National Assembly.
“This disgusting attempt to create a new controversy was pointless. We do not need RN votes for the central bloc candidate to get more votes than the New Popular Front (NFP) or NR.”said the entourage of the deputy of the presidential party Renacimiento.
According to the publication, the presidential camp could try to use the votes of the right to run for the post of president of the National Assembly. The elections will take place on July 18, the opening day of the new 17th legislative assembly. The deputies of the Ecologists (EELV), France Invicta (LFI) and the Socialists (PS) have already declared their willingness to prevent RN from occupying strategic positions in the lower house of Parliament.
