The assumption that Mikhail Efremov received a mischaracterization from the leadership of the IK-4 colony, where the artist is serving a sentence for a fatal accident, was voiced by lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky to withdraw Efremov’s application to the Alekseevsky District Court of the Belgorod Region. replace the unserved part of the sentence with forced labor. This was reported on February 13 by the RIA Novosti news agency.
The head of the Alexander Dobrovinsky and Partners law firm, Alexander Dobrovinsky, who represented the interests of the injured party in Efremov’s trial, told the agency about the withdrawal of Efremov’s request to replace the unfulfilled part of the judgment with forced labor. Dobrovinsky believes that before writing an application, Efremov’s lawyers should have checked what kind of “mood” the colony administration had on this matter. “But the camp does not really want, for some reason, to write a good characterization or let citizen Efremov go. Perhaps there is another request ahead, which we will see in a while.Dobrovinsky said.
The meeting of the Alekseevsky District Court of the Belgorod Region, at which, at the request of the actor, he could be released from IK-4 ahead of schedule, replacing part of the sentence with hard labor, was scheduled for 17 February. However, now the court will consider another request from Efremov – to withdraw that request.
The artist’s lawyers once again do not give comments to journalists, referring to the ban on this matter by Efremov himself.
Recall that due to the fault of Mikhail Efremov, who was intoxicated, on June 8, 2020 in the center of Moscow there was a car accident, as a result of which the victim Sergei Zakharov later died from his injuries in the hospital. Efremov, by decision of the Moscow Presnensky Court, was sentenced to 8 years in a penal colony. The Moscow City Court reduced Efremov’s sentence to 7.5 years, taking into account the compensation paid by the artist to the victim’s family.
