The restriction on entry of vehicles with Belarusian license plates into Estonia is due to the introduction by the EU of a new package of sanctions against Belarus, the press service of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on July 17.
The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that the entry of vehicles with Belarusian license plates across the Estonian border is prohibited. “regardless of whether its owner or user is located in Estonia or the European Union”.
Cars with Belarusian license plates that have already entered Estonia must be registered within 5-12 days. “Depends on the circumstances”and pay import duties or apply for tax exemption.
Recall that on June 29, the EU Council announced sanctions against Belarus, including a ban on the import of minerals from Belarus and restrictions on the transportation of goods by road.
