
A criminal scheme for the repair of gas equipment in various cities of the Russian Federation was revealed in Novosibirsk during investigations into the case of a gas explosion, NGS reports on February 14.

The subsequent investigation showed that the defendants in the case worked as part of the company Mezhregiongaz Service for the maintenance of gas equipment in apartments, although they were not officially employed by it, however, they had with them the form, certificates and company forms. contracts
The scheme of fraudulent work was as follows: the “controller” of the gas repair company toured the apartments, pointed out to the residents that the gas equipment the residents had was unsafe, and strongly recommended that they fix the problems. If the owner agreed, a contract was concluded, and the next day the “installer” came and made repairs (replacement of the hose). At trial, the defendants denied their guilt and pointed to the quality of the work.
As it became known, the Mezhregiongaz Service company did not have documents, rights and qualifications of personnel to perform relevant work on gas equipment. Investigators also proved that the director of the Mezhregiongaz Service, previously convicted of fraud, organized similar inspection and repair teams in 6 other cities of the Russian Federation.
Recall that on February 9, a gas explosion occurred in the house at 39 Lineinaya Street in Novosibirsk. There was a collapse of the entire entrance of a five-story building. The explosion killed 14 people. It was previously reported that the city’s mayor decided to install special sensors in houses that are supplied with gas.
