In Abkhazia, law enforcement officers detained Abkhaz citizen Dzhansukh Adleyba, who was firing a gun at the walls of the Abkhaz parliament, the press service of the regional Interior Ministry reported on the Telegram channel on July 17.
“As a result of operational-search activities carried out by employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with employees of the special escort company of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Regional State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Adleyba Dzhansukh Ivanovich, a resident of the Sukhumi district, a member of the Sukhumi district Internal Affairs Directorate, born in 1978, was detained at the Eshera traffic police station.”the post says.
According to the Interior Ministry, this happened near the Abkhaz parliament building. At approximately 13:30 (Moscow time) on July 17, Adleiba fired in the direction of law enforcement officers on duty near the parliament.
According to researchers, “Pursuant to Part 7 of Art. 19 Note 1 of the RA Code of Criminal Procedure, the person named or represented is guilty after the verdict or final court decision comes into legal force.”.
It should be recalled that a meeting of the parliamentary committee on economic policy and reforms was held in the parliamentary building, during which a draft law regulating the construction and operation of apartment and aparthotels was discussed.
At that point, opposition members attempted to break into the event, which was denied access to members of opposition organisations and some journalists from non-state media.
The ban on access to the meeting sparked anger among opposition members gathered outside parliament. They tried to force their way into the building and organised a mass protest.
As a result, members of the Economic Policy and Reforms Committee decided to recommend the adoption of the bill at the next session of parliament.
