A 32-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday in the autonomous region of Madeira on suspicion of committing several crimes related to sexual abuse of children and pornography of minors, the Judicial Police (PJ) announced on Thursday.
The victims were several children between the ages of 13 and 15.
According to the SP, the investigation began with a report from Swiss authorities about several computer files related to underage pornography, in which the detainee was depicted in sexual acts with children.
The first contacts with the victims were made on online gaming platforms, where the detainee offered “vouchers” for the purchase of virtual items in exchange for sexual acts.
The detainee was brought to court on Thursday and a preventive measure was applied to him.
