The most garbage-filled region in Russia is the Krasnodar Territory, said the head of Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radionova, Izvestia reports on February 14.
“Our constant pain point is the Krasnodar Territory”emphasized.
The difficult situation with garbage in the region is made up of several factors, among them the tourist flow. Radionova noted that tourists do not pay utility bills for garbage collection.
The volume of waste they generate is not taken into account in the territorial scheme, he added. Belorechensky and Novorossiysk training grounds are overcrowded in the region. The Temryuk landfill is also at the limit.
Among the regions with a difficult situation with garbage, Radionova also named Kalmykia, Ingushetia, Dagestan and Novosibirsk. And in Chukotka there are no landfills that meet the requirements.
