Japan’s government decided to increase the standard daily wage for people employed in public facilities, February 14, reports the NHK television channel.
According to the Minister of Territory, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Tetsuo Saito, in the field of public and private employment, work is being done to increase the salaries of specialist technicians.
In this context, the authorities decided to increase the standard daily wage of this category of citizens by 5.2% from March to match the inflation rate.
The increase is the 11th year in a row, but for the first time in 9 years, growth exceeds the 5% mark. The ministry notes that this increase mainly reflects the situation in the construction industry, which is facing a shortage of employees.
Now, on average, public project workers will receive about 22.2 thousand yen (12.4 thousand rubles) per day.
Recall that for a decade, the Japanese authorities have been trying to accelerate inflation to the 2% level. However, the country’s financial block did not achieve this result, and in several cases the opposite process was observed: deflation.
In the context of the sanctions imposed on Russia and the resulting energy shortage in Japan, the costs of fuel, including oil and gas, have risen significantly. This resulted in a 3% excess by the end of 2022.
In addition, against the background of a supported super-easy monetary policy and the decision of other countries to increase the key interest rate, the national currency began to fall rapidly, from the level of 110-115 yen per US dollar to 150 yen per US dollar. . dollar in fall
In the context of rising prices, the government urged companies to work more actively to increase the wages of their employees, since the price increase program, as planned, must be accompanied by an increase in the income of the citizens.
