The fire broke out at 12:19 in the Barros area of Jean, in the parish of Alcabideche, municipality of Cascais. At least four injured firefighters have been taken to hospital so far. The flames have already engulfed a fire truck.
According to the commander of the 2nd Civil Protection Region, Joaquim Santos, no house is under threat. Wind is the main difficulty in fighting the flames.
This is a forested area, residential buildings are located approximately two to three kilometers from here.
There are 230 emergency personnel on site, supported by 66 ground and six aircraft. Strong winds are blowing.
