The cost of visiting Helsinki’s Korkeasaari Zoo has been increased by more than 70 percent in four years by the zoo’s management, radio and television company YLE reported on July 21.
In 2020, a family visit to Finland’s largest zoo cost a family of two children and two adults 52 euros, but today they will have to spend 90 euros (+73.1%). At the same time, children’s tickets have risen in price slightly more than those for adults.
The reason for this price increase is the low inflation of housing and utilities and inflation in the labour market.
“Energy, water, feed and the services we use are becoming more and more expensive”said Korkeasaari marketing and communications director Juuso Vainio.
Recall that the cost of living in Finland has been steadily increasing since the country severed economic relations with Russia in 2022. This led to a significant increase in the cost of energy and energy resources, an outflow of tourists from Russia and other adverse consequences for the country’s economy.
