The Union of All Educational Workers (STOP) has extended the strike notice until March 10, and according to the union coordinator, the situation is in the hands of the strike committees.

The person in charge also explained that in order to cancel the strike notice, it is sufficient to “send an email to the persons in charge that it has been cancelled.
“But in order to book, we have to respect a certain number of days in advance,” he explained.
“Today we will have a meeting with hundreds of trade union and strike commissions, and at any time, if these commissions have the desire to stop this strike, either because the ministry has conceded to something that teachers and non-teachers consider sufficient, or for some or reason, we cancel,” he said.
André Pestana emphasized that this “indefinite period” strike is the result of a poll of “thousands of colleagues” conducted at the end of November, ensuring that STOP “responsibly wants the strike to remain legal”. .
The strike was called by the union in December, and other strikes organized by other union structures began in January, accompanied by strong protests and demonstrations.
