Porto have not yet given up on signing Mick Fai. The 20-year-old Barcelona centre-back is seen as an ideal defensive boost, but the Catalans’ €15 million asking price is prohibitive.
Catalan newspaper Sport reported on Sunday that at the last meeting between the two clubs, Andre Villas-Boas asked Barca to wait a while so that Porto players could sell one or more players and thus have the funds to move forward with recruitment.
However, do you know? CMthere can be no talk of paying Barcelona the 15 million euros in advance, even if David Carmo is sold in the meantime. FC Porto will try to make part of the investment contingent on achieving its goals, postponing these expenses for the future.
