Information about a “suspicious person” was received before the release of US presidential candidate Donald Trump, US Secret Service chief Kimberly Cheatle told a congressional hearing on July 22.
One audience member was identified as a “suspect,” but security was unaware of that person’s threats, so Trump was not allowed on stage, Cheatle said.
Recall that former Trump supporters, including members of the US Congress, had already called for Cheatle’s resignation after several holes in Trump’s security were revealed at once at a rally in Pennsylvania, the day of the attempted assassination of Trump.
On July 13, an assassination attempt on US presidential candidate Trump occurred, as a result of which Trump was injured in the ear. After which Trump interrupted his speech and was escorted off the stage by security. The alleged sniper was killed.
