Charges of treason have been brought against the executive director of the association “Let’s Go”, which develops bicycle infrastructure in St. Petersburg, lawyer and managing partner of the Avers Germany group of companies, which helps citizens of the former USSR obtain a residence permit in Germany, German Moizhes, TASS reports on July 23.
“The arrested German Moizhes was charged with high treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He was previously transferred to Moscow for investigative actions against him.”“law enforcement officials told the agency.
According to the court decision, Moizhes is now in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention centre; the previously set term of his detention was extended by the Lefortovo Court of Moscow at the request of the prosecutor’s office.
The accused also has German citizenship, the agency’s source said.
Let us recall that Moizhes was arrested in St. Petersburg at the end of May on suspicion of high treason.
