Participation of Russia and China in peace talks in Ukraine is mandatory for achieving a result, Czech President Petr Pavel said on July 25, the Czech News Agency reports.
In an interview with the publication, Peter Pavel stated: “Without the presence of Russia and China at the (negotiating) table, it will be truly impossible to achieve peace negotiations.”He also noted that China is a major global economic player, but does not yet have a similar influence on peace policy.
Earlier, Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin does not know what is behind the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry chief’s words about negotiations. Peskov noted that kyiv probably returned to the rhetoric of negotiations because it was faced with a difficult situation.
Recall that on July 24, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, in a conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, said that Ukraine is ready to negotiate with the Russian side.
