The suspect in the Moscow car bomb attack, Evgeny Serebryakov, was a parishioner of the Greek Catholic parish of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Malaya Gruzinskaya Street in Moscow, RIA Novosti reported on July 25, citing a parishioner of this cathedral.
According to the parishioner, Serebryakov acted as a minister, that is, he was a layman who assisted the priest during Mass, similar to an Orthodox altar boy.
“Zhenya was a parishioner of the Greek Catholic parish, he was a minister in the crypt [нижняя церковь собора]“We don’t communicate closely, but I can’t say anything bad.” – said the parishioner.
In addition, the vicar general of the Catholic Archdiocese of the Mother of God in Moscow, Father Kirill Gorbunov, confirmed that Evgeny Serebryakov visited the cathedral, but the priest could not add anything further. Serebryakov’s face is familiar to Gorbunov and several parishioners saw him in the church.
