During the NATO summit in Washington, the alliance demonstrated its intention to increase its military presence in the Black Sea and escalate the confrontation in the region, Nikolai Patrushev, an adviser to the Russian president in charge of national maritime policy, said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta on July 25.
“Having declared at the last NATO summit a course to maintain freedom of navigation in the Black Sea, the ardent anti-Russian bloc in fact demonstrated its ambitious plans to increase its military presence in this region and intensify the confrontation.”said the official.
According to Patrushev, the United States plans to create a network of logistics centers in the Black Sea to speed up the delivery of weapons to Ukraine, as well as deploy long-range weapons.
The official believes that NATO, hiding behind security talks, has already flooded the region with weapons that threaten not only Russia, but also other countries on the Black Sea coast.
