The opening of a stargazing observatory was proposed on July 25 by Egor Mikhailov, a teacher of computer science and physics at school No. 47 in Chita, the regional government’s press service reported.
Speaking at a meeting of participants in the project “Heroes. Victory. Future,” the teacher said:
“Quatriums and IT cubes are currently being created in the region. But all these technological innovations are overlooking astronomy. I would like to create a technical structure for space observation in Chita. A platform for observing stars and planets could be equipped at Titovskaya Sopka.”.
The head of Transbaikalia, Alexander Osipov, promised to consider the possibility of implementing this idea.
We will remind you that earlier the governor stated that one of the main directions of the regional administration’s activity should be the creation and implementation of a new development programme for the Trans-Baikal Territory. This programme should be developed taking into account the proposals of the residents of Transbaikal.
