Former US President and Republican candidate for the November presidential election Donald Trump accused the Democratic Party on Thursday of a “coup d’etat” against current White House leader Joe Biden, who dropped out of the race.
Trump, speaking on Fox News’ morning show, called Biden’s speech Wednesday night (early Thursday morning in Lisbon) in the Oval Office “horrible” as he detailed his decision to quit the White House. The presidential race is set for November 5.
“I think it was a coup. They didn’t want him to run. He was very low in the polls and they thought he was going to lose,” the Republican politician commented.
