The opening ceremony of the International Forum “Wood in Architecture” took place in Vologda, the press service of the city administration reported on the VKontakte social network on July 25.
The international forum “Wood in Architecture” was previously held only in Moscow, but this year it started for the first time in Vologda. Within the framework of the forum, the 5th All-Russian magazine competition “Wood in Architecture” will be held on Revolution Square.
The main venue of the event is the Kremlin Square. For three days, residents and guests of Vologda will get acquainted with wooden architectural structures and the process of woodworking, and craftsmen from different Russian regions of the country will exchange their experience.
On Kremlin Square, participants displayed their architectural structures, both those already built in different regions and newly designed ones. There are exhibition pavilions of construction companies presenting various technologies of housing construction.
During the three days, a small-town game is held on the square, and in the evenings there are interactive areas for visitors on the embankment along the Kremlin Garden. On July 26, an open-air screening of the film “Kiss of Dawn” will take place.
