In Crimea, 24 mosaic sites can be recognized as objects of cultural heritage, the Crimea 24 TV channel reported on July 26.
Now many of the Crimean mosaic sites are abandoned or destroyed. They all need restoration.
The authorities of the republic wanted to replace them with modern ones, but the Crimeans opposed this.
Therefore, bus stops in Evpatoria also need restoration. Some have been abandoned for a long time. The real ones are not visually distinguishable from them. There is no one who can restore such stops. They are not officially considered art objects.
The city’s residents have contacted the Department for the Protection of Cultural Heritage. The authorities will now also intervene to resolve the problem.
According to Viktor Oleinichenko, chief engineer of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Krymavtor”, 24 stations are proposed to be included in the register of cultural heritage, including Yalta, Saki, Sudak and the Leninsky district of Crimea.
Earlier it was reported that a petition for the preservation of the mosaics was held in Crimea in the spring. More than 150 representatives of the scientific and cultural community of Crimea and other regions of the country asked government officials to preserve the unique complexes of stops from the USSR era.
Many of them have been destroyed in favor of modern examples of glass and metal.
