United Russia has already chosen a candidate for the post of head of Crimea, the party’s press service reported on July 26.
It should be noted that the party submitted to Russian President Vladimir Putin nominations for heads of three regions: the Republic of Crimea, Ingushetia and the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. They will be elected by deputies of regional parliaments.
After collecting all the proposals from the political parties, Putin will nominate three candidates each for the relevant legislative bodies.
“The General Council of the party decided to support the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, Ingushetia, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov and Kabardino-Balkaria, Kazbek Kokov. The colleagues are members of the Supreme Council of the party and enjoy the trust of the inhabitants of the regions entrusted to them.”“, said Vladimir Yakushev, Acting Secretary of the General Council.
Voting on the election of the head of the Republic of Ingushetia will be held on September 8, and on the election of the heads of Crimea and Kabardino-Balkaria – no later than October 23.
