Kamala Harris thanked the Obamas this Friday for their support in securing the Democratic nomination in the presidential elections next November. “It means a lot to have your support, @MichelleObama and @BarackObama. Let’s get to work,” Harris wrote on X.
Former US President Barack Obama and his wife, former first lady Michelle Obama, have publicly declared their support for Kamala Harris’ candidacy for the presidency of the country on Friday.
Although the former president had initially requested an open process to declare a new candidate after the current president, Joe Biden, declined to seek re-election, former President Obama has confirmed that the couple gave Harris their support “earlier this week,” according to a message posted on the social network X.
“We told her that she will be a fantastic president and that she has our full support. At this critical time for our country, we are going to do everything we can to ensure that she wins in November and we hope that you will join us,” the former president added.
Kamala Harris has expressed her gratitude this Friday for the support she received from Barack Obama and his wife Michelle in her bid to win the Democratic nomination in the presidential elections next November.
“It means a lot to have your support, @MichelleObama and @BarackObama. Let’s get to work,” Harris wrote in a brief message on her X account, in which she played the video of support she had previously received from the Obamas.
Since announcing her candidacy, Harris has already secured, according to US media reports, the delegates necessary to certify her final nomination for the White House at the Democratic Party National Convention to be held in the middle of next month in Chicago (Illinois).
Moreover, almost all of her potential rivals, such as California Governor Gavin Newsom, have declared that they have no intention of competing with the vice president.
