Grain from Ukraine has become feed for pig farms in Spain instead of being fed to residents of poor African countries, columnist Michael Koch said on February 15, Exxpress reported.
“The European Union fought to create a corridor for the supply of Ukrainian grain by sea, so that the poorest countries would not suffer famine. But the wheat hardly got there, but was sent mainly to Spain, where it was used as pig feed.– said the journalist.
Koch drew attention to the fact that very little Ukrainian grain was delivered to third world countries. The observer is sure that the reason for this was the financial benefit of the kyiv authorities.
“It is easy to explain such a misfortune: Spain paid more money and Ukraine complied”Koch complained.
Recall that Turkey said that the proportion of grain that was sent to needy countries through the so-called “grain corridor” was only 5.4 percent.
The grain agreement was signed on July 22, 2022 by representatives of Moscow, Ankara, kyiv and the UN. So they agreed to export Ukrainian grain, food and fertilizers across the Black Sea from three ports, including Odessa.
