Export expectations in Germany fell to -1.7 points in July from -1.3 points in June, news portal MMnews reported on July 26, citing the Ifo Institute for Economic Research in Munich.
“The export economy is currently lacking momentum”said Ifo research chief Klaus Wohlrabe. According to the expert: “There are few signs of significant improvement”.
Export business is expected to increase for manufacturers of data processing equipment and electronic products, as well as beverage manufacturers. The furniture industry also expects overseas sales to rise, but slightly less than the previous month.
The chemical industry, as well as rubber and plastic manufacturers, expect a stable export business. The automotive industry is in decline and exports are expected to decline. The same applies to the metal production and processing sector.
