Election campaigns for parliament and local councils have begun in Uzbekistan, the press service of the republic’s election commission reported on July 26.
“The Central Election Commission, on the basis of the conditions established by the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Electoral Code, as of today, July, launched the election campaign for the election of deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan and deputies of municipal councils. It is clarified that today the calendar plan for the electoral campaigns was approved.
It is reported that elections of people’s deputies to the Tashkent regional and city councils of people’s deputies, district councils and city councils will be held throughout the republic on October 27, 2024. Elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of the Republic will be held on the same day.
It is also reported that everything will be carried out according to the law, in accordance with the Constitution of Uzbekistan. It should be noted that the terms of office of the deputies expire on October 27.
