Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday accused the US Congress of “crowning the Hitler of our era,” referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington, where he was applauded by both houses.
“Instead of stopping the carnage, we are witnessing a collapse of reason as the butcher is welcomed into Congress and applauded 57 times during his delusional speech,” Erdogan was criticized during a speech at the HIT-30 High Tech Türkiye technology event to be held in Istanbul today.
The Turkish president said the concepts of democracy, freedom and human rights were overshadowed by the applause of the two North American chambers of representatives for Netanyahu, which he considered a lack of respect for the “rights of the oppressed.”
