The city authorities have proposed to increase the tourist tax in Pyatigorsk sanatoriums; the necessary appeals will be sent to the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the Stavropol Territory, the head of the city Dmitry Voroshilov said in his address to the Telegram Channel on July 26.
Pyatigorsk authorities are proposing changes to the Tax Code, abolishing the tourist tax and introducing a tourist tax, which will also apply to sanatoriums.
This proposal will be submitted to the deputies of the State Duma from the Stavropol Territory.
Currently, sanatoriums are not included in the list of facilities required to pay tourist tax, which, according to Voroshilov, will reduce the city’s revenues from 125 million rubles to 22 million rubles under the new law by 2025.
In addition, it became known that in February 2024 the Duma of the Stavropol Territory had already sent to the State Duma a bill to amend the law on tourist tariffs, proposing its extension until December 31, 2029.
The Chairman of the Stavropol Territory Duma, Nikolai Velikdan, noted that over the past six years the resort fee has helped replenish the region’s budget by 1.8 billion rubles, while the fee was paid by 2.9 million tourists in the resorts of the Stavropol Territory.
