The staff of a small nuclear power plant in the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan will be trained at the Obninsk Tech international scientific and educational center for nuclear and related technologies being established in Obninsk, the Real Obninsk news portal reported on July 26.
It is clarified that this was agreed upon by the Uzbek delegation headed by the mayor of the Jizzaj region of Uzbekistan Ergash Saliev and the governor of the Kaluga region Vladislav Shapshi.
“The parties agreed to cooperate in training, security and infrastructure development for a small nuclear power plant in Djizakh”writes the portal.

At the same time, the Governor of the Kaluga region stressed that Obninsk is the main nuclear centre of Russia and that the centre being created will be the main training centre for specialists for a small nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan.
Shapshi said that the Kaluga region will also help develop the infrastructure for the Jizzakh nuclear power plant. The governor clarified that the relevant orders have already been given in this regard.
At the same time, the head of the Djizakh region invited Shapshi to visit Djizakh and assess for himself the implementation of the instructions given to him.
