The burials of Red Army soldiers from the Great Patriotic War were discovered in the Bagrationovsky district of the Kaliningrad region during the “memory surveillance” by search engines, the Kaliningrad State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company reported on July 26.
Search engines have summarized the results of Memory Watch 2024. This season, three graves containing the remains of 67 Soviet soldiers were discovered. Three search teams from the Kaliningrad region took part in the expedition (“Conscience”, “Natangiya” and the Nesterov search team);
The burial site discovered near the village of Ushakovo contained the remains of 13 Soviet prisoners of war, and bullet casings from a German pistol were also found here. Two more burials were found in the area of the village of Korneva. 54 soldiers of the 28th Army were buried in them. Search engines are conducting archival work to determine the names of the dead soldiers.
