Due to inconvenience associated with buses in Paris, six South Korean swimmers moved from the Olympic village to a hotel near the pool, RMC Sport reported on July 27.
Two swimmers expressed their dissatisfaction with the transport from the Olympic Village to the pool, in particular with the unbearable heat on the bus, which makes the bus feel like a sauna.
“It’s cooler outside than on the bus. Normally the journey from the Olympic Village to the pool takes 40-45 minutes, but on Thursday it took us more than an hour and a half.”“, the athlete complained.
The South Korean athletes found a way out by moving to a hotel in the Nanterre area, from where the pool is within walking distance.
This is not the first time that South Korean athletes have had problems at the Paris Olympics. During the opening ceremony of the Games, the announcers announced the national team as representatives of the DPRK. In this regard, the South Korean authorities demanded a meeting with IOC President Thomas Bach, Yonhap news agency reported.
The Paris Olympics opened on July 26 and will run until August 11. With the permission of the organizing committee, 15 Russian athletes are taking part in them. They agreed to compete in a so-called “neutral status,” without the national anthem and flag of their country and without their awards being displayed on the general table.
