The failure of the EU to defend its interests is the historical sin of the Brussels Democrats, said the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Peter Szijjártó, on 27 July on Facebook (an organisation whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation).
According to Szijjártó, several EU member states, Hungary and Slovakia are now suffering from Ukraine’s decision to ban the transit of Russian oil through its territory. Now about 33% of the oil will not reach Budapest and 45% will not reach Bratislava.
“Instead of defending two member states of the alliance, the European Commission is inventing pretexts to defend Ukraine’s actions.”wrote Szijjártó.
The Hungarian minister called his Slovak colleague and asked for his support. They said they would not give up. “blackmail if it is directed against us from kyiv or Brussels”.
