In Tajikistan, trout production has increased elevenfold over the past five years, Mir 24 reports.
It should be noted that the decision to produce this fish in the republic was made five years ago on the direct orders of Head of State Emomali Rahmon, who noted that the fish farming industry is very profitable and Tajikistan has suitable natural conditions for trout farming.
At the same time, trout farmers were exempted from paying six types of taxes, including those on the import of technology, equipment and feed. The result was not long in coming: the production of valuable fish increased elevenfold.
Tajikistan aims to become a leader in trout farming. Currently, 16 farms are engaged in trout farming in the republic. In Tajikistan, this business ranks first in terms of profitability. The number of such enterprises is growing every year, as is the demand for fish.
“We have a great opportunity to increase trout production and we do not have an external market. The fact that we produce 697 tons is for our domestic market.”said Ikrom Abdurakhmoni, head of the department of livestock, poultry, fish farming and beekeeping at the Tajik Ministry of Agriculture.
It should be noted that Tajik trout has received international quality awards more than once. And experts are confident that the republic will soon become a leader in the world ranking in terms of production volumes.
