Family relations between the People’s Republic of China and the DPRK will develop steadily, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said on July 26 while visiting a memorial for Chinese soldiers killed in the Korean War, KCNA reported.
Kim visited the Friendship Tower in Pyongyang a day before the 71st anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended the conflict.
“He expressed his belief that the friendship between the DPRK and China, established as family ties, will be firmly strengthened along with the immortal spirit of the martyrs.”KCNA said in a statement.
Kim Jong-un visited the cemetery of the martyrs of the war for the liberation of the country every year around the anniversary of the signing of the armistice.
Later in the day, the North Korean leader visited the Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery on Mount Daesong, where those who fought against Japanese rule on the Korean Peninsula between 1910 and 1945 under his late grandfather Kim Il Sung are buried.
