Within the framework of the “Summer of Museums in Tula 2024” project, the events of the interregional festival of the cultural community of small towns “Oksky Plyos” were held in the town of Chekalin, the press service of the administration of the Tula region reported on July 27.
The Oksky Reach festival celebrated its fifth anniversary this year. It is a cultural and educational project aimed at highlighting the history and modern life of small towns in the Tula region, as well as revealing the region’s tourist potential.
This year the festival took place in Chekalin. The main venue of the events was the Cathedral Mountain Recreation and Cultural Park, where the organizers of the festival created the historical site “Dashing City” in honor of the ancient name of Chekalin – Likhvin.
Here, musicians and “medieval” jesters performed for the festival guests. Visitors could also take part in ancient Russian games. Handicrafts were displayed in the Trade Rows: amulets, jewellery, military armour, shoes and clothes.
